Partial Stabilized Zirconia (PSZ)

As some phase stabilizer (e.g. MgO, CaO, Y2O3) are added in the ZrO2, the high temperature phases, including tetragonal and cubic phases, are preserved. If the t-phase precipitates are arranged uniformly in the c-phase grains, the toughness of the ZrO2 is greatly improved as good as metallic alloys. ■
