Nano particle synthesis

Synthesis of high quality zirconia powder in Sunward is based on molecular reaction. Zirconium species (for instance ZrOCl2) in molecular scale react and accumulate to form nano-sized particles. Other species, yttrium or magnesium which is normally used as a phase stabilizer, mix with ZrO2 to achieve molecular-scale homogeneity. The advantages of the synthesis method include several folds. The precursory chemicals in high purity can be uniformly mixed. The zirconia particles can be synthesized from nanometer to sub-mircon size, and form nearly spherical shape. ■
